Analysis & Process

The formula for the Exponential Law to determine the vertical profile of wind speed in a certain place, it is useful to calculate the average velocity (horizontal) wind at different altitudes (from 0 meters to the height of the gradient).

This law describes accurately the behavior of the vertical profile of the average wind speed up to altitudes of 100-200 meters above the ground (or in the lower part of the ABL, known as Atmospheric Surface Layer ASL, which can be quantified as the first 10% the ABL).

The vertical profile of mean velocity, is the first parameter that is considered to characterize aerodynamically a particular geographical site.

In WIND ANALYSIS, the algorithm for calculating this function is already implemented.
